FAQs

Family Hospital at Lake Travis

Have an urgent care-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • Will you accept my health insurance?

In the event of an emergency, your health insurance will be accepted at our emergency department regardless of in-or-out of network status. We will work with your insurance company to settle the details of the emergency room visit. Please know that our team at Family Hospital at Lake Travis wants to focus on your emergency FIRST, then worry about the financials SECOND.

All health plans require emergency room visits to be covered and treated the same as an in-network provider.

  • How much will it cost without insurance?

It is very difficult to determine the total cost of the visit prior to meeting with our medical team; for this reason, we can provide a range of costs between $400 and $1,850 for the emergency room visit, imaging, and labs. In the event you need to be observed for an extended period of time (three to 24 hours) to rule out a life-threatening concern, the self-pay rate would be $3,000. If you are concerned with the costs, we encourage you to look into our FHS membership program that includes the ER visits at no additional cost; memberships start at $125/month for individuals. We also offer couple and family membership plans!

  • Why did I receive two bills?

We are required to separate our billing for legal and insurance purposes. The two separate bills are for the same visit; however, one is for the professional services rendered and the other is for the facility (emergency room, supplies, imaging, labs, etc.).

  • Do you have cash pay and membership options?

We accept cash-paying patients and offer memberships that provide fully covered visits and labs at our urgent care.

  • How can I access lab results?

We use a system called Rupa Health to manage our labs process at our pediatric urgent care.

Results can be accessed in two different ways:

Rupa Health Dashboard (Preferred Method) - Once your results are ready, Rupa will send you a notification via email or SMS to create a password to access the dashboard. Here you will be able to review your results in an easy-to-understand, patient friendly format.

Patient Portal - Lab results will also become available in your patient portal under documents shared. These will be results sent directly from the lab.
